DIY expert reveals top tips for home renovation projects

Chip Wade, former HGTV host and owner of Wade Works Design of Atlanta, appeared live on Fox Network’s Fox & Friends Sunday” on March 7th to discuss the products he recommends for home renovations.

For composite decking, Chip recommends MoistureShield’s new Meridian composite decking series saying, “…this is the most realistic wood-grain I’ve ever seen on a composite!”. Meridian boasts incredible features such as TruTexture Surface and CoolDeck Technology.

It was launched earlier this year and is currently available in the Northeast, rolling out to the rest of the US and Canada in coming months.

“We are so excited to share this next product with you…it’s the Meridian Capped Composite Decking and is a new product by MoistureShield. We are already huge fans of it! You can build your next deck with the beauty of a natural wood look with minimal upkeep. Sounds awesome, right? The TruTexture Surface gives Meridian a natural wood-grain look, with varied patterns and multi-color depth (repeated patterns often look fake). For the two lighter color options, you can also get the CoolDeck Technology which allows your to stay 35% cooler than composites in similar colors even in direct sun. This Composite decking also resists scratches and moisture (even underwater!!). Meridian Mini-Deck Colors include: Shoreside (a golden, sandy blonde); Mariner (a rich dark brown); and Citadel (gray shade). They are available in 12’, 16’ and 20’ length boards and offered in square edge and grooved. This is available in the northeast now, and will be available in other regions this year.

If you’re using MoistureShield decking, your best bet for deck footings is to use Sakrete! This is Pro grade strength and perfect for the footers, decks, fences, slabs, and walkways. This concrete is way faster than typical concrete, so it keeps the job moving.”
